The Burning Man temple catalyzes a near universal experience of emotional release – a feeling of letting go – even though this structure holds as many meanings as there are burners who walk through it. When I wander around the playa, I often question how in holy hell people build so many gigantic art installations. The majority of the construction must be completed prior to Burning Man since most artists aren’t anywhere near Black Rock City until the event or just before it.
